Stephan is described in his request to emigrate (#40327,
Wiesbaden) as 59, 5.7, medium stature, blond lashes and blue
eyes, blond hair with white streaks and a round face and chin.
He had 'bad teeth' and was blind in his left eye. The document
can be found in the Sophienburg Museum in New Braunfels. The
request was granted 9 Sep 1844. 'F-M Grant & GEC Forever', p4,
also shows Stephan, wife, and five Kleins arrived Galveston 8
Dec 1844. Everett Fey gives Stephan's birth as 1785 in Roxheim
Bad-Kreuznach and death as May 6, 1857.
